I have to grab a full sheet of metal for the shop so I thought I'd go ahead and have them break the general chanel shape for me for that project since they're brake is way better than mine.

  2. I wonder if Mack Products ((660) 263-7444, wwwmackhils.com) sells anything you could use? They are the supplier that specializes in truck beds.

Before making your own I'd check around the people that sell complete PU boxes. A friend of mine bought just individual components for his '34 box when he built the truck a couple of years ago.

I had more time than money at the time we made the bed so we fabricated the pockets,,I'm sure they are not to specs. HRP

Probably a good idea if you actually want to use stakes. :)

I chose not to make provisions for them. HRP

I got mine from Brookville although they may have been made by Macks.

And they have all the proper beads too, if that's a consideration. I used them on my bed to match the original look. They fit perfectly out of the box. I figured I'd make nothing but s**** by trying to fab my own.

It's most likely the other way around. Brookville makes them, Mac's sells them.

I could buy them, but that's $40 a piece versus a little time and no guarantee they'll fit the bed sides the PO had made for the new bed. my cheap gene kicking in here since I have to buy a full sheet to get the size I need. stakes aren't functional

HRP how wide and deep are yours? flange/lip 3/8 or 1/2?

Mack Products makes them and have them listed on their website for $34 ea front or rear. They are very nice quality.

I have side profile templates I made from a friends originals. I was too cheap to spend $37 a piece so I made mine out of some 18 gauge. I bent them up, traced the side profile, cut the excess out,and welded them up. I can get you some measurements tomm. I believe they are aprox. 19" top to bottom and I put a 1/2 lip on each side

    Mine measure

    The pockets measure 2" x 2 1/4" x 2" (1/2") flange on both sides.

The length is 21" and the taper starts at 12 1/2"

    Hope that would help. HRP
