The thing that has given me the most aggravation over the years is getting the front sheetmetal lined up on 40 Fords. I've spent days on that job and I'm not the most picky guy in the world about gaps. But I have a new number one and that's alignment of the doors on this 32 3 window I'm working on now. The body came to me with all the wood gone but with a new wood kit. Doors and hinges are original to the car. Right off the bat I could see the pillar posts were cut wrong as they would place the hinges about 1/2 inch too high. I've corrected that issue but I've gotten really good at putting the post and door together and taking it apart again. If anyone has experience they would like to share on a process or procedure that works for them I would appreciate the help.
One thing we did on my deuce 3 window was but a rod on the top hinge with a turn buckle in the middle going back to the trunk floor to keep tension on the door and help keep it aligned.
