ok ive been collecting parts for a while and a few days ago i figured it was time to see what i had...
Wow, this thing's gonna be cool... and channelled!! Keep it going, can't wait to see how it turns out! Malcolm
Nice!! I can't wait until I can get some shit out of the garage and see what my pile of shit looks like on the frame. Yours looks really nice so far!!!!
it had a chop on it but it was hacked so i chopped it more and built new a pillars, also have a 700r4 trans because i plan on driving it state to state with ease.
Looks great. How the hell do you guys fit in them chopped and channeled rides? my body doesn't bend like that any more. I was dam near a quad after driving my last chopped deuce pu 500 miles. Took an hour to get straightened out. Good luck!
i have a schroeder steering box and plan on a push button trans shifter.. i sit in it now and seems to have alot more room than any of my model a's
that is a really good build. Is the center section of the frame from a 32? or repro? I really like the set-up on the chassis. How much is it channeled? chopped? Are you gonna put drip rails back on? I also dont blame anyone for runnin an overdrive. If you have run state to state with an early drive train without overdrive then you know. Keep us posted, thanks
the car is chopped about 6 1/2 to 7''.. i was told it had a 3 1/2'' chop but it was crooked so i took out another 3 to 3 1/2 to get it straight. its channeled 4'' and the center rail pieces are original but the fronts are repos, i kicked up the front of the frame.. i have new drip rails and i will put them on.. the one that it had where welded solid.. i saved this car from being a tube chassis street rod..
I am not really a '32 guy. I am 6'6" and 270 lbs, and there too pricey for my cheap ass right now... Having said that, there's nothing better than a channeled (chopped or not) 5-window...I am really looking forward to seeing the finished proportions... Gotta love a Nailhead any day, too...
That definitely doesn't look like a 6 1/2 to 7" chop, more like 5". A stock 5W has a 10 5/16" w/s, 13" side, and 9" rear windows. Subtract your measurements from those, and tell us what you wind up with. Great looking start though.
Cool! Don't see a lot that are chopped and channelled anymore... Where did you buy replacement drip rails??? Mine need to come off so that rust underneith can be taken care off and I'm not sure how much damage to the originals might result!
Great project save another car form the scrap, some times you have to make you own parts. Rex www.realhotrods.com Custom Auto Loveland colorado
