You might have seen this pic in the "Tom's Fun Run" thread,of my buddy Jack, the Burt Reynolds look-alike,haha!
Well he finally got his '32 5w on the road, after 30+years of on-off-on again-off again status!!!! He got it running Friday. Last night he brought it to my Village Idiots gathering, which is the farthest he's drivin it,so far. It still needs some adjustments, clutch, brakes, etc.
He bought it at Long Beach Swapmeet about 1975-6.
It is SOOOOO cool! He said he is gonna leave it just the way you see it. I'm so jealous!!!!!!!

Now you know what Burt Reynolds would look like without the hair dye and plastic surgery, hahaha!

What a cracker Bob. Im sure others may chime in and Im not a "red wheel hater" normally or post negative comments about someone's car but any chance you can whisper in his ear to think about another colour like black with some thin beauty trims. Its a gorgeous car all the same, he must be stoked. Is his HAMB name "Bandit"? LOL

The first time I saw it,the whole thing looked the same....great patina. Then his buddy started taking out all the dents and dings, and primering. I still like it. He has caps and beauty rings for it.

anybody wants to know what "patina" means....this car is the REAL THING for sure.

also...quit badmouthing red wheels. That was one of the first mods anyone did in the 50s - dump the full stockers, paint the wheels red and stick on some baby moons, Merc domes, whatever. If this site is about 'traditional', then just appreciate how things were when hot rods really began to appear in HS parking lots, drive-in restaurants, and up and down Main St all night long (gas at only 28¢/gal meant a 'bucks worth' would give you all night long).

Nice! Not to be picky, but I think I'd loose the Stant "Lever-Action" radiator cap, for something a little dressier.

Great hot rod. Would he, by chance, want to trade it for a nice black and gold Trans-Am? :D

That car is neat...the real deal! Love the old diamond tuck seat and the uneven pinch in the axle drop....guys try to make them look too perfect today.

He's definitely holding up better than the real Burt

..I'm not gonna ask how much he paid for it but I'm thinking 1975-76 was probably a good time to buy a deuce. Cool that he hung onto it all these years.

  26. thats awsome
i think the best part about it is that its a project that started in the heart of glam rods-went through the street rod erra-and still ended up as a cool hotrod
