The purple on the hood will be a great color on it!

  3. That is nothing less than a dream workshop! Your exhaust ideas are reflecting your incredible power of imagination, not to talk about the tons of chrome underneath. i'm quite sure i'm #849 or something in that range who's watching from the beginning.
That office is incredible, so cool!

Agreed, but I'm thinking a little darker...

Anyone have any idea what color thus 40 was? Did any of the OEM's use a color like this in the late 50's?

I did a 40 pickup for a customer in some shade of purple he picked out of a Mopar color chart.

Would the Mopar purple be Plum Crazy?

The first Camaro I saw at 1966 Tulsa Oklahoma state fair was Royal Plum and it was pretty dark!

Check out Chrysler’s Deep Plum Pearl from the 90’s. Fairly dark not a lot of red.

20231130_175512.jpg Got some more parts back from the chrome shop. Now to the glass shop for a windshield. Looking forward to seeing the car with the chopped windshield installed.

Maybe Bill knows what purple Pat used on his Nitti-inspired roadster...

Rolled the 5w outside for some pics. Changed it up a bit with blackwalls and full Lyons caps. I thought I was 100% sold on the whitewalls, but now I guess it will get either option, depending on the occasion.

  23. That is just perfect!
BTW, What was the fix where the fender and frame meet up at the running board, after you rotated them forward?
Did you just hammer in the setback?
    Thanks!

  30. Read the entire thread so I guess I'm # 235 or so. Your work just reaffirms the fact I'm a hack. Love everything you've done so far. I like the black tires and Lyons caps better.
