Guys, These are the window regulators that came with my 5W. The one with the large half moon gear was in one of the doors but the other one was just in a box. They look very different and I'm wondering if both are correct.
These are correct for a 32 Ford, it is my assumption that since most of the units were outsourced, there were two different manufacturers. I have taken the position that the upper one is a later production version and the other an earlier production version. The upper one is picture identified in the Ford hardware book. Since the earlier Model A 4dr units had similar construction parts as the lower one it seemed logical, But?????
I worked on an early production tudor, and it's regulators looked like the lower one. Seems to fit Dick's hypothesis.
