I have a Tudor body that is cut 3". It always thought it made the car look too long to me. I also have a sedan delivery that is cut 2", it looks good on the delivery, but not enough for a tudor sedan. A friend of mine cut his 2 1/2 and I thought it looked about perfect. I always thought the more radical the chop, the more extreme the car has to be dumped in front. If you are going to have it cut resist the temptation to "get your moneys worth" by cutting it too much. If you are doing it yourself it doesn't matter.
HotRodDrummer's 32 sedan. 4" chop, one of my favorie HAMBer cars! <img src=http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid80/p170e381439874fa6304a9c0d0ff811c4/fb0c2d2f.jpg>
Rouge's c-dan is IT--wouldn't change a thing-- BTW--I saw your(deuceV8)roadster at k-ville last may,love it is the sedan going to favor it,black primer-cream wheels,white walls?
Hey Stu thanx for the commments. I'm thinking the sedan is gonna be a flat green (brush applied) and I'm thinking of using some signage on the door. My grandfather has been dead about 30 years but I wanted to up his name on there and say used cars as he sold cars when he was alive, and sand it down and give it a weathered old look. It will have steelies but probably red this time with some wide whites.
man everybody knows when you do a radical chop on a tudor all ya gota do to make it look right is take 4 more inches-length wise- out of that back window
Jim Benitez aka rogue has got it nailed. I say chop the*****er, but not too much. A 2-3" chop really gets the proportions right. Well i love sedans not that we see many over here, plastic roadsters and coupes and lots of pops(anglias).I love pops too it is getting more common over here to channel and leave the roof on pops they look so good. Now thats the way i would go stay full height with the roof and channel it with a zed in each end of the chassis, make her real low they look so good.If you don't like it then chop it you still have the choice and if you want just take the zeds out of the chassis but a chop is almost irriversible although i have seen someone reverse a chop and it looked ok............Mad Marq
I was always into chopped cars but since I have mine I changed my mind - spend 3 weeks thinking about chop or not chop that thing - I think if you don't know if you should do it - let it be heres mine - but's a 34 plymouth

the chop on that car is not 4"....more like 3 5/8"....I have the exact dimmentions around here somewhere!!

Rainer that plymouth is a beut absolutly spot on .The moment i saw it i thought what a beautiful car it is exactly right.I also have to say another car i think is right is Rod riguez although not everyones cup of tea it looks right.Personally do it your way but if your not sure about the roof run the car with a full top and do it later so you won't regret it.As for the car at the bottom of the page my personal view is that it is way over the top, just a personal view mind some people like em like that but i think it is probably less practical with a heavy chop and channell. My truck is going to be channelled 5 inches and zedded 5 inches back and front but i'm keeping the full roof for now,you never know i may chop it at a later date if it don't look right.I will however still have the choice to chop or not to chop. Also the decision may be made by where you live in the states, most sunny state cars seem to be heavily chopped but eastcoast cars are mainly heavily channelled and zedded this may in part be due to the weather. As we have weather over here in blighty like the east coast i'm going east coast style with my truck you on the other hand may want to go with popularity and chop it but if you do chop it make the back higher and rake the screen back too more work but looks better...........MAD MARQ
How tall are the kids? If it were mine I'd chop it to the max, but... Mail Slots are where it's at, so if you get the hammer out, hammer it a bunch. Keep us posted on progress. if it don't make you dirty it ain't yours.
thanks everyone for the input, big help. Here is a pic of one that I dont know where i found this pic but it looks really good. I cant seem to find many pics of hiboy sedans unchopped.
That red one is very nice! I just sent you an email with a few other unchopped sedans. Having looked at a few of them now, I think the most important factor in making them look good unchopped is to have fairly tall tyres on the rear.

[/ QUOTE ] So what does that tell ya. Actually getting the stance right is probably more important If it's not quite low enough and not chopped it will look kind of*****y. Just my opinion.
Donzie or Hatch or fuelpump might have a pic of mine its chopped a little over 2 1/4". The reason being it was built out of a severely damaged car and a doner top. It just ended up at that height after we saved everyting we could. I was shooting for 2", which I think is a perfect chop for a '32 2dr. with fenders. Frank
I love the look of the stock tudor just above that chickenridgerods post. Its dripping patina! So hows the lower subrails and floors of the proposed tudor? If you want to get low and save the floors you could always take a little off the top and a little out of the middle. This one has a 4 inch chop and a 6 inch section. Just one more variation to consider. I don't think I have ever seen a deuce tudor that did not look good. Go extreme or nothing at all and they still look cool. Steve
