Nop, got a link? Totally agree. Loved the mechanicals on the coupe. I haven't got them on the roadster only because it was already fitted with hydraulics.
I cant seem to find the link here at work I know i have it saved at home it has a video of a 34 4 door sedan locking all 4 wheels and sliding to a stop at a fairly decent speed i'll get back to you this afternoon...whatever time that make it there! Zach
What's going on with the 11" (or even 10") looking backing plates in the Buick drums ? The wheel cyl. is so far down they look like they could be 9" shoes ? You using the drum as a cover only ? .
Thanks==the rear has a model a crossmember/T spring. the front crossmember is almost flat with a rev.eye spring mounted behind a 4"dropped axle--now I just got to figure our how to mount my steering-I'm thinking about going above the frame instead of below it Chris in Fla
Stu, that's righteous. I've been seeing more and more cool things from Florida. WTH is going on? My universe is spinning out of control...hahaha Hotroddrummer, that's what I'm talking about, real Hotrodstuff, nice. Kilroy, nice stance, can't wait to dive into my own, oh yeah..... Great posts all you'se guys!
Thanks alot! Comming from you that's a big compliment! The x-member is 40 Ford... I worked it so I can use use 39 pedals with no modification and the trans mount is stock just moved back a bit. Since those pics I redid the rear sweep...
heres the link to the mechanical brake kits for those who may be interested http://www.rentalcar-newzealand.com/tedsbits/index.htm Zach
HotRodDrummer, What is this little piece? Well, I know what it is now but what was it originally? Awesome detail. JH
here is another pic with alittle more progress. IMHO This is how I like to see an original ch***is set-up.
I thought "Oh yeah, ch***is pics......." You guys are all amazingly talented. The Kennedy Koupe is nailed in my books. They're like breasts - great to look at yet all slightly different
this is great as I plan to use similar set up on my 48 dodge frame. 4 link rear, sq tube cross members etc..
Thanks alot...again! I'm planning on breaking the whole thing down pretty soon and boxing it. I want to finish my flathead first though. I'm gonna steal your belled lightening hole idea for the boxing plates... I wish I could just buy them from you but I think I've got a kinda 1-off thing going here.
The '32 brake setup uses a very short central crossbar right under the U-joint, with all four rods following the path of the radius rods. Klaz's excellent take on one of the two traditional paths to forward-pointing MC on a '32 used a section of about a 1936 cross shaft that makes the thing look like Henry built it that way. I immediately went out and found one of them and am thinking of copying his setup exactly. The other way: Keep original cross shaft and use it to push a MC pointing forward just to the right of the trans. The more common rear facing cylinder behind the pedals puts the MC awfully close to the ground. I may be going gold-chainer and converting my pickup to hydraulics, if you're looking for a set of those things...what will I do next?? Teal wet-look paint and remote activated power cowl vent??
here are 2 from the shop...its sitting under a C dan...final filler prime and the finished paint before being rubbed out...ironically the only 2 I have of it...you'd think I'd have tons of pics..haha
I love to look at deuce frames, thinking of building another 32 frame just to have around! Here's the only one I have of the ch***is under my vicky.
