32 Coupe ..Should I?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by -, Jan 20, 2004.

  1. Found a pretty good deal on a 32 five window and am at a loss on what to do. I plan on selling the RPU and need something to replace it. I have a pile of parts for a modified but this 32 comes along. Might be able to throw it together quick and have a cool ride for this summer. I have a couple of ideas on what i would do to it. Here's a photo shop of the obvious way to go with it.

PS still doing the bubble top. I just need a car for Larry's mud run!

Clark 32s for a good price dont come along all that often. Maybe what you could do is buy it ship it to me with a****le and I will store it for ya [IMG].
Me I would get the 32 I really like the photo shop picture idea. You could always toss the modified together and peddle it. A 32 is A 32. IMO...Danny

If you are asking should you buy it, you will never find it cheaper later on. I've never found a car that turned me on when I had the money all saved up and looking for a car. I've always had to shuffle the deck and redeal to get them.

I thought both the roadster and the coupe were over priced when I bought them, but then I'm an addict. Today they would be concidered bargains and we aren't talking ten years.

Please don't ask for ideas for the car. Your ideas will kick****. Follow your heart.

    Clark,

Do you even have to think about it? What's cooler than a Deuce Coupe?

This is even an issue? Buy the Deuce before it becomes not such a good deal anymore or it disappears.

I have just had a similar experience anmd I know you guys are going to think I`m insane,I answered an ad for a guy in Belgium that wanted to trade a stone stock rust free 3 window deuce coupe for my fi,glass bodied roadster!!The coupe is a 4 cylinder model and has had the engine and box rebuilt,it lived most it`s life on an island of the coast of Africa and is remarkably complete.I checked the production figures for 32 3 windas and found Ford made over twenty thousand 3 windas with a v8 but only made 968 4 cylinder models...talk about rare. The upshot is, the car is too nice to hotrod and needs restoring(I never thought I`d ever say that)and if I did swap ,it would stand me at about $37.500 with what the roadster cost to put together and the cost of driving over to the mainland to get it, I had to be realistic and pulled out of the deal.

If anyone wants to speak to Sam about the deuce, you can reach him at kustom@pandora.be

I`ll try and post a pic of it.

  9. Clark you know it's a good deal. And the rendering is sweet. Although I might raise the rear up so the the body reveal is just over the top of the tire. Or cut the reveal and move it up over the tire.

We should be seeing the truck on E-bay real soon Right?

    summer is comeing soon [IMG]

  10. Here's a bad pic of the car. For $7500 I get a body with all the patch panels,a frame, hood, grill and shell (org. 32) The body looks nice but was channelled at one time. It was patched on the quarters and cowl but was not done right. The patches are only about 3 inches up and can be easly fixed. The rest of the body looked nice and straight.
I'm sorta thinkin that painting it like the roadster would be cheesey but I do like the idea of numbering it 13 with a "b" to signify it being second.
I guess it's time to put the RPU on Ebay and see what happens.

Clark, you know $7500 is DIRT cheap for a Deuce coupe.

If you don't do it, you'll regret it from here on out.

    Make it happen.

(This from a guy who still regrets trading a DOA Deuce coupe for a nice running '40 coupe 10 years ago)

    Clark,
Like the rest, i say no doubt go for it!
You build stuff to enjoy, and i'm sure you would enjoy it!
If it's something you find your not happy with for whatever reason, you could sell it and re-coop your "investment".
I say investment because, as i'm sure you know, deuces are a VERY sellable car.
There's guy's around here that are spending more than that for less car only because it's a 'gennie'.
Good luck with whatever you do man.

    Tony...

When can I come see it?Tomorrow ok?

  23. Heck yeah do it!

Now something I've been thinking about lately:

I can not believe no one has bought the RPU!

Mark my words, in 50 yrs. people will see that car in the same light as Moon Glow or a ton of other magazine cars that were built by talented backyard types. It won't be the Hiro Merc., Piederson Coupe, or a Roth car, but I bet ya' damn near anything it will be sought after in its own light. I've thought about selling my Vic. a couple of times to buy it, just to keep it forever. The timing just isn't good though [IMG]

Truth is, if it was anybody else but Clark, I would already own it. I'll be grumpy if both of us miss it. [IMG]

Just buy the thing Clark! Build it, drive it, get it muddy, then sell it if you want to so you can have some dough for the bubble top! Just think, 32's are GREAT for MAGAZINE coverage and TROPHIES!! [IMG]
