I just bought a '32 oval dash panel/tunnel and don't know if it's out of a pickup or car. I know the dash tunnel is shorter on the pickups. This has the 90 mph speedometer. When I set the tunnel on the workbench flat on the tunnel feet, the top of the dash is 10 1/2" from the bench. The bottom of the dash is 12 1/2" from the bench. Does anyone have a car or truck dash/tunnel they can measure? Or is it automatically a car dash because of the 90 mph speedometer? Did they put 90 mph speedometers in the V8 pickups?...inquirin' minds...
I think you will find that when the 90 MPH speedometer came out he 80 MPH speedometers were used on the 4 cylinder vehicles until they ran out and then the 90 MPH speedometers went into all vehicles. That means if your truck is late it would have probably had a 90 MPH speedometer. This combined with the fact that the speedometers were easily changed means you shouldn't read anything into the fact that the dash has a 90 MPH speedometer. Charlie Stephens
I believe the car tunnel does not have the little kickup or bend where the engine turned face mounts. I will go measure in a minute.
My tunnel measures 8 3/4 low side, and 9 1/2 high side. I bet you have a car tunnel. Wanna buy a truck tunnel?
Ok, pics are up top. edit...Big deuce, I just read your post...mine must be a car dash...Thank you for the help.
Thanks for the offers guys...I don't need a truck dash/tunnel. I bought this one at an Estate Auction yesterday. The guy only had '32 truck cabs and parts of trucks, so I thought this must have been to one of those trucks...glad it's not.
