i'm building a '32/'34 pickup from pieces. I lack a firewall and want something more "era" than just a piece of sheetmetal.Has anyone ever tried a model A firewall? It seems to measure pretty close and by reversing I could gain clearance.I reversed one in a A and it worked great. Has anyone else had to improvise on this over priced piece?
I think you can get the outer channel that goes on the body lip from Bitchin products. This might be a good starting point for building. A 30-31 would probably be close, and a '33-4 truck would be an exact fit. Come up here and drill out 8,000 spotwelds and I'll give you one of those... A flat one welded into the hoop channel and covered with stainless would be a pretty traditional look. Whatever you do, look over a '32 wall carefully and try to duplicate the lower legs fore&aft from the wall itself. They are important braces for the body. And make everything strong--the wall is a major structural part on a deuce.
