Well I went a bought a rough 32 five window that has some rough quarters that I can't figure how I'm going to fix them. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas of where to get quarters or peices to fix what I have I know I can buy the lower parts of the quarters but I need alot more than that.

Eyeball posted a flyer last year to a guy who was making 5 windows out of 4 dr sedan's. I think he sold quarters as well. These are not oringinal but hand made. They did look good in the photo's. Sorry I don't have the flyer pic handy , I would check with eyeball. Post some pics of that purchase.

Why not use brookville roadster quarters?....they look nice on a coupe.

I thought of the brookville thing, but they want 2800 for a pair of quarter panels and all I want is a rough ol hot rod to drive daily so I'm trying to seek cheaper means if possible, but thanks for the idea.

If you can't/won't spend $2800 to help save a '32 five window body you've got the wrong car. If you want a cheap daily driver, quit while you are ahead, sell the '32, and buy a PT Cruiser.

The Fordor-to-five-window conversions are hand-formed by an artist in Dent, Minnesota. I have his brochure here in the office of my shop but it's buried and I won't be able to dig it out today because I'm packing up a large shipment. I will post it here as soon as I'm able to make the time to dig it out.

There are presently no die-stamped quarter panels for '32 five-windows. For someone who's willing to splice them in place, roadster quarter panels look great on five-windows. Here's one of George Poteet's cars, which has them:

Although I would have to part out the only body kit that I have left until the next shipment, I could sell you a pair of Reprosteel roadster quarter panels, boxed up and delivered, for $1,900.

You can learn more about Reprosteel at http://www.roadsters.com/reprosteel/

I don't like to hype my products on here, and I'd much rather discuss Reprosteel bodies on the phone rather than typing it all out. I'll be happy to anyone's questions if they call me at (602) 233-8400, any day until late.

I think the guy turning fordors into 5 windows uses Brookville quarters too. I seem to remember seeing his flyer at BTTF's a couple years ago.

The only patch panels I have seen made are the lower 6" in front of the wheel and the wheel well. And the wheel well doesn't come out far enough anyway. You might need to make a lot yourself. Or buy a full pair from Dave.

How are Roadster quarters different than 5 window coupe, for my own education?

The roadsters have the beautiful area just above the wheel opening....not flat like the coupes.

  11. I did not know that. Thank you, sir.

  12. OK here are some pics from his shop. There are pics of the 1/4ers and one of a rear section that is ready for a 4 door as well as some of his other handy work.

Thanks a million to all the responses especially Dave and Eyeball. That flyer looks like just what I need I'm going to contact him and go from there. I cant tell you how much that helps me. This could really save my butt on this project. Thanks again.

  23. I hope you stick with it and repair/replace those 1/4 panels. I had a rough but usable 32 five window body and it also had really rough quarters. I wussed out and sold it because I couldn't find decent 1/4's for it. [this was pre-Brookville] I've regretted selling it ever since.

Rocky, that isn't really that rough, have ya ever seen mine? Oh, yeh, you have . Mine should give anyone some hope.

I just staightened the quarters, well ok roughed them out and put in new wheel wells. Looks ok from about 10 feet away.

  25. Post ppics of your 1/4s. They cant be that rough. That car of Rockys is cherry compared to the shit we save on a daily basis.

  26. Yeah, Jeff. I've seen your coupe and it's about as bad as mine was except for my left rear 1/4 panel. Mine was an old stock car had had been hit repeatedly in the left quarter, knocked back out and hit again. It was toast. Here's a photo I took of Hiboy 32's coupe over the winter..right after the chop.
Now, aren't you glad you kept it?

yes I am glad I still have it. It is almost on the road, well other than tires and grill/ shell and a ton of work.

Did you get the quarters from the man in Minnesota?

    Are they hand-formed or die-stamped?

    What do they sell for?
