After a 30 + year standing i tried to start up my 32 Tudor today still with it's original V-8 engine. After filling the radiator with 5 gallons of water and new gasoline in the cleaned gastank i noticed when starting that water/oil mixture came from the dipstick hole. Luckely the engine didn't fire up. When draining the oil, most of the water came out of the sump together with the engine oil. The water was put in the radiator some 4 hours before the start attempt so most be leaking quit heavy into the engine. Question one: what could be the problem ? Question two: what to do to prevent rust into the engine ? (already put 1,5 gallon of new engine oil in the engine). It was my plan to get married in it in 10 days but i'm afraid that's not going to happin at least not in this car. (sorry for my English, i'm just a Dutchie)
I would take care of the wedding, worry about the motor later; In the meantime, how about hiring a tow truck to lug your car around. Seems to me that would be a lot of fun, you'd have both hands free........of driving duties.........
If it froze, it's likely cracked right above the pan rails on the inside.....I had this happen once. Why did you wait so long to fire it up?
The oil before starting looked nice and clear and the level was okay. The engine turns over very nice so if there was water inside i ***ume it was stuck after so much time. I don't have it for so long and it ran about 10 years ago when i bought it, but without water in the radiator.
You had this car for 10 yrs and try to fire it up ,with water, for the first time 10 days before your wedding . Dude what have you been waiting on. It don't take but a couple hours to change head gaskets . Pull them and take a look gotta come off anyway.
