Great score Dennis. I'm sure you will do a pefect job on it. Now don't spend to much time sitting on the computer, you need to be in the shop working on the coupe. Mark
hell i do that with my glass 3 window. i couldnt know what to do with a real steel car sitting there like that! congrats. thats a score of a lifetime.
THANK'S to everyone wishing me luck with the 3 window. But I still am looking for someone to give me some background on this old hot rod. With a chop like it has there could not have been that many running around North East Nebraska & Iowa. Someone has to know something about this car........
Dennis, Congrats on the three window...my favorite also... Have a cousin in Oakland, Iowa..bit South... that did Bville in '58 and been around the hot rod scene early on.. will run this by him also. Good luck finding some more info on the history. Makes it so much more personal for sure! Was very fortunate to find the builder of my 3wd before he passed! Randy
Randy, I would be forever grateful if you could find out anything on this old hot rod. Thanks for your effort, Dennis
Got a call today from someone that worked on this old hot rod 37 years back. He is emailing me some history of it from back in the days. I will post it as soon as I receive it....Can't wait to receive it.
Yes I did get an orignal 3 window dash with glove box door. But as Big deuce said the center oval area has been cut out of it. The raised area in the center of the dash is mostly all still there. Krylon 32 gave me a oval area cut from an orignal dash so I am going to try and repair it back to stock looking dash. Does your dash have the glove box door? What do you want for your dash?
My extra is cut full width for a big insert, so it's missing the glove box area. The pics look good after blasting, was the top finished with lead?
Big Deuce Thanks for the help posting the photos and yes to the question as the top being done with lead. I am going to remove it where the splice was made over the center of the doors on each side as there seems to be some seperation under the lead at this point and clean the area up and relead it.
Cool find Dennis! I imagine you are glad we did not make a deal for my old heap of a body. This one looks much nicer and chopped to boot! Glad for you.
Mickeyc, Hey! Don't knock your 3 window body...I think it is a nice one and should be built. So get to work on it....
Thanks for the encouragement Dennis. I am working hard to finish another old Ford I have, then I hope to start on the 32. I do have the majority of the "stuff" I need to get it rolling including a genie chassis and suspension. Time is my biggest challenge!
Were you able to check with your friend on the 3 window???? Still looking for some history on this old hot rod. Do you know a Mike Voge? Not sure of the spelling of the last name, but was told he might have owned it at one time years ago. Dennis
