I agree with Deuce roadster, these coupes are perfect the way they are. And i agree that a lot of the chopped ones look like the 'glass copies. But this is only my opinion.

  2. Well said, B-bob and DueceRoadster

And wow...that black 3 window is just perfect.

the deck lid is a mess. It had been cut in two parts, and then welded back wrong, the shape of the lid doesn't match the shape of the quarters. If the inner part is separated, it's too flimsy to get in a correct shape. I am afraid I will have to purchase a new one.

now everything is together. The doors open and close correctly, even if we still have to fix the upper part of the doors...they are rusty and bent. Problem is the trunk lid.

Just goes to show what a talented, experienced, patient, person can do with lots of time and determination to get the job done. You have done a great job in bringing this old body back to life.

  13. Wow I'm impressed! Glad to see a car that far gone brought back to life. Makes my car look like it was almost new when I got it. Keep up the good work and keep the updates coming. I plan to watch the progress.

If all you have to buy is a deck lid thats pretty damn good considering what you started out with...hard to believe its the same body!

If you can fix the rest of that mess, you can fix the trunk lid. Your work so far has been amazing. Thanks for posting your progress.

Wow. That gem looked like it came from Ontario. If they had used a bigger box it may not have needed folded. Steve

driver side door is hung and fits well, all gaps are correct. Roof fits well. Now just some finishing and driver side is ready.
The metal structure under the roof was necessary to get car straight, otherwise I would have used wood. But metal was too warped....

I was thinking with your skills you could make a perfect deck lid out of a rusty old beer can! I'm amazed at your talents, beautiful work!

The guy that sold the car to Dan sent me a mail with some history of the car. Here is his mail

    Hi, there Adventurer,
I am the fellow that sold Dan the 3w. I was talking to an older Indian in Omak,Wa and he told me about this rough '32 Ford cpe. Like all '32 owners, all stories must be checked out. He was correct, the car was there amongst various other hulks. I was able to bring it home with the sole intent of yard art. It sat in my yard as such for quite a few years. After some time I ran into another Indian that donated the fenders and boards. The last 3 pics on page 3 of Dan's Hypotetical Deuce are taken at my home before Dan took it. The fellow that I bought it from did not know any history other than the obvious, race car, badly beaten, etc. It did have a dash in it that still had the hook on it to keep the trans from jumping out of 2nd gear while racing. This was common in the jalopy days.
I was looking on the HAMB one day and there was this fellow saying he wanted the worlds worst '32 3w. My curiosity got the best of me so I contacted him to see what he was doing. He was excited to hear about the cpe and had me send a couple pics and immediately wanted to buy it. I told him he had to see it first and I was sure he would not want it but I was wrong on that one. We talkled swap but nothing worked out so we agreed on a price and you know the rest. I was sorry to hear he sold it but can certainly undestand it.
I am very impressed with your work on the car. Do you plan on keeping it or building to sell? It appears from the pics you have a pro shop and many interesting projects. I am glad the cpe ended up in the righr hands.
Speaking of '32's, I have a fifties style roadster that I have had since '74. 283 Chev ,'39 trans and 32 rear with 3:54 gears. It was in Oct '58 HRM. The article was titled "I always wanted a roadster" then owned by Geno Ames. It is full fendered, chopped top, ww's with solids and baldy caps, dropped axle and headlight bar and King Bee lights. .
    Keep up the good work!

I finally got some help as I have a very hard time with the computer and the HAMB Being 73 may have something to do with it!

What a nice guy! Thank you John! Car will be not be sold, that's for sure...my plans are for a 3.71 blown 283 with a 4 speed....

We are fixing passenger side now. The roof had been welded and pèatched many times in the past, there was a large patch just above the door pillar. But the patch was too short. So we had to cut the roof apart, spread and weld back together.
Here are some pics. At first roof just begun, then finished
