No, it's still a long way....before I can drive her...maybe next year. Now body work is almost finished...fixed front fenders and running boards and mounted the whole car together. Roof is finished. Now I am waiting the suspension parts to do the frame. Will post some pics tomorrow. Still somewhat uncertain about the powerplant....283 with 3 71 blower or 392 hemi ...and I also have a nice 53 flat that is in good shape to which I could adapt the 3.71....decisions decisions...

I have a dried out pig's ear that the dog has been chewing on. If I send it to you, could you make a silk purse out of it? You have amazing talent and ambition, keep up the good work.

I would wire wheel (I actually use 3M style strip-it discs) it as best you can. Then if you have a pressure pot style sand blaster, mount an air regulator in line. I have done a decent job of cleaning sheet metal to "white clean" using as little as 30 psi. Always blast at an angle and keep moving. Good ol' Henry tin will stay put and not distort.

I just I could be guilty of complaining how "rough" my own 3w was. But your car and the quality of your repair tend to humble me.

Why this car? Don't know...was looking on the HAMB and she found me...was the only 3W that I could afford.
No history known...have talked with the past owner and nothing special about this car.

the best thing about this car is the fact that you should be so proud about what you have accomplished every single time you look at it and remember what you started with and what you have brought back to life, Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

There's a good dipper in Stuttgart, Germany. We just had a '51 Merc stripped there.

The fact that you saved this car is very impressive. Anything can be fixed with a combo of time, talent, and money. What are you going to run for a drive train?

Will be using a 283 Chevy with a 3.71 blower and a Muncie 4 speed.....with a AMC 20 Jeep CJ rear end. Brakes will be 48 Ford on a dropped front axle. Wheels will be 16 inches steelies... still unsure about color....maybe dark red (but my 35 3W and my 32 roadster are same color....) or blue...if I can find a nice shade.

  20. Amazing salvation of this car!
I'll keep watching till it's done.

Door latches work as they should...they are the original to the car
    Putting front end together
Trying the engine inside the frame and working on the mounts

Holy ****! Is there nothing you can't do?
What's next? A little bit of beatin' and hammer welding on that little tear in the side of the ***anic? After all,it won't need much - and it's just lyin' there in the middle of the Atlantic waiting for someone to pick her up and take her home to their thousand foot long shed!
I'm in awe that you saved this - in fact, I've seen it, but I stil don't believe it!!!
     OMG

For the first time in many many years, the 3W is on its wheels....ok...just at the front...but it's something...

In the front I have a PJ dropped axle....with hairpins and a Vega steering adapted to a 39 Ford column. Brakes are 48. Leaf spring is monoleaf.
If someone sees something that I am doing wrong..please let me know...have still so many things to learn about building hot rods...body work is something, but getting the car to drive is completely different...

The monleaf will be way too stiff.
Ditch it for an original spring or multileaf aftermarket.
Easier to adjust and a softer ride.
Get "soft" shocks. I used So-Cal ones and they are very good.
Used VW Beetle before and they are too stiff.

My personal option now....loose the fenders and chop it . A blown SBC with a 4-speed desevers it.

I envy you how you brought that dead piece of 32 metal back to life !!!!!!!!
