It's times like these when I wish I had lots of money. I would be the savior for all of these old cars that managed to survive years of neglect only to find a new home with someone that wants to make a bunch of updates to suit their own personal needs. I know that sounds wierd, but really?

All I ask is that you read what others have posted on here about keeping the old survivor type cars the way they have been. It's yours now and you can do what you want, but once you start (which it sounds like you already have), there is no going back.

No doubt, the debate will go on for ever. Keep it like it was in 61---preserve the history---I was around in the OLD DAYS and I sure do remember what it was like changing 39 trans, torque tube axles, fried clutches, suicide doors popping open, no thanks. The original frame and all it's trim is now sitting under an old drag car 32 3 window. THAT frame will be preserved as a traditional 50/ 60's set-up. I'm not about to let ALL the history slip away. But the new car will be a safe, dependable ride, and I entend to keep the look the car had---but the 64 Mustang tail lights gotta go!!

glad to read that the old chassis and parts went to the 32 3 window....nothing wrong with OLD parts, they might even be better than some new parts...But when you're broke down 500 miles from home, it's a good feeling to be able to go to the parts house and get what you need to be back on the road....Keep it looking period Bill, and KEEP IT GOING ! Love those 32 sedans

I have a few pictures of the frame build. The wheels and tires are proper size and offset and are great rollers but the final wheels will be steelies with rings and caps. One of the thing KIRK does is center the axle and wheel with the fenders mounted to the frame, that way there is no surprises with car when the frame is welded solid and the bodies mounted andthe fenders are put on. Another issue was the fit and clearance for the Posies parallel rear spring set up, KIRK also mounted the frame horn covers and gas tank to make sure it all works. I wanted anew flat firewall, so I got a Brookville unit. Fits---- right from the get go. Set up for a 350 Chev. and a 700R4 trans. A Chassis Engineering brake pedal assembly. Provisions for the steering column and steering shaft and steering box. A lot of stuff in a limited area for sure. BILL RINALDI

One of the issues of the original {1950's] build of the car was, as nice as the 4in. chop was, it had "steps" in the windshield posts and front door frames. This "problem" was taken care of by Vince Spretnjak from Calumet Collision Hot Rod Repair. First thing he did was align the doors and got all the body lines as straight as possible. and the door gaps evened out. As for the steps, after removing the paint and as much lead as needed [yea, lead, the chop was done with steel rod and lead]. Vince slit posts and pulled in at the narrow part and spread it out at the wide end, welded in filler as needed. Sounds easy enough---If you know what your doing---Man he sure does!! A minor change but an important one, Oh yea, the Mustang tail lights went away, a major change for sure. Now the fenders have room for the N.O.S. Vega tail lights. BILL RINALDI

I can't go on like this!! The tail lights are gone-----no more tail lights in the fenders---Period. The bodies on the frame and things are pretty much lined up. I'm just about ready to pull the body back off the frame and start the finish work on the frame and suspension. Here's a few current pictures. BILL RINALDI
