Been gathering more pieces. Put the '32 mount on the '34 trans, bolted it in. Grabbed a freeze cracked '47 block for mock up. Added the worn out water pumps off my avatar AV8 and blocked it up to measure for frame mounts. Ordered some of those. Today my incredible friend that I got the car from brought me a near mint original grill and shell! @Gasser 57 That would be my '34 Dodge DR Coupe. It will be for sale. The hemi car behind it is a '33 Plymouth PD with a '34 Dodge grill shell trimmed on the bottom and a custom grill. Today he brought me a few more pieces. Stainless dash trim, hood center hinges, a hood latch, luggage rack, dome light, front fender braces and a bunch of little pieces! Dave

The '34 coupes and cabriolets have a 2" longer hood than the sedans, etc. That pic makes it look a little longer than it really is too. Dave
I have a question and a couple updates as well. I mocked up an original '32 radiator and found that because of the '31 A front crossmember with A upper u-bolt crank handle guide that I had to space the radiator up as it sits on that guide. I assumed that because the A crossmember lowers the front end that's the cause of the clearance issue. Am I correct in thinking I should just use square top u-bolts with no upper crank guide (which has the round top u-bolts) and clamp them direct to the crossmember? In other news.... I bought a pair of coupe rear fenders and plan to trim them to fit the 4dr body using the destroyed original rear fenders as a pattern. I actually hung the drivers rear on by 2 bolts and it nearly fits as is. Just leans out at the top because of to much width. The other thing is they have been cut out for '39 Ford tail lights and I like those so that decides what I'll run there. I took the horrible hood and beat it into submission yesterday, enough that it fits fairly well, although the drivers side top half needs more massaging. Got hood rods installed, radiator in shell, rear hood hinge bracket mounted and a hood hinge installed. Running board braces. Are all 4 pieces the same? I have 3 of the 4 and need 1 more. Bought some old used bumpers and door handles and hood latches along with the rear fenders. Got a super deal on that stuff. Same great guy that gave me the 2 trannys and other goodies. The inside of the car is getting full of parts! One (2) more item(s) I am missing is the upper halves of the seat sliders/tracks. The bottom halves are still on the floor but the seat halves are missing. Anyone have some for sale? I will need the seat adjuster ratchet too. Bought a new UPI windshield frame and dash and some other goodies, most of it got here yesterday, dash is coming today. One other interesting thing I discovered yesterday. The '32 hood latches are 100% identical to the ones on my '34 Dodge, right down to the mounting bracket! I need some for it too so now I have an easy source. Here's a few pics.
Well, at the price I got these coupe fenders for wouldn't pay the shipping on sedan fenders so they are getting modified. No one I know has any sedan fenders. In fact, passenger side is cut already! Here are pics of the toasted original sedan fenders. Passenger side straightened out pretty fair for a good pattern. Drivers side sucks! Before and after the big hammer and some welding. Dave

When I 1st started gathering parts for this I expected it to be fenderless for years to come. I have been gifted, blessed, helped out, and given so much help with this I can't believe it! I will be getting the running boards as well. Just have to swap the nice used ones off a car and help install new ones on it. Then I get the left overs. I never thought I could afford a '32 Ford of any type so this is really special to me. I do need to finish my '33 Plymouth Coupe 1st but in the mean time this one stays near the top of the list gathering and mocking stuff up. Thanks everyone for their help. Dave

Holy cow! Talked about being blessed! My friend whom I got the '32 from just showed up at my door along with his wife. He had in his hand, the title for this car that he forgot he even had ever gone through the trouble to get! With it was the info from the people he got it from and other info from way back! WOW! I expected to go through a bunch of paperwork to achieve one. Not sure what I have done to be this lucky! Thank you my friend! Dave
Hung a '31 headlight bar loosely on the '32 with some old BLC 903j lights. I like the looks ok but not exactly what I wanted so I ordered a '32 dropped h/l bar today. Spent the day at doctors getting shots in my neck, then another doctor for follow up. I go back Monday for the nerve ablation. Hope that takes care of the pain and headaches for awhile. Got more goodies today! Threw the new dropped headlight bar on, I like that much better. Also got new rad cap, door handles, '39 tail lights, hood latches, '32 bumper bolts and pedal pads. Also got the frame mounts built for the motor mounts. Here is a pic of the new bar. Also a shot of our 200 mile Model T Model A trip last Friday. Spent the day using the porta power on roof dents and hammer and dollie and pry bars and cut off discs and shims and here is the days results. I think it resembles a '32 Ford! What do you think? Got the rear coupe fenders cut down and mounted. W/S frame mocked in along with dash panel. Got the front passenger door mech freed up and working. Bolted the '39 tail lights in. Front spreader bar. Rear frame horn covers. Took off the 4.00x18 fronts and bolted on some 6.00x16's. Here are a couple pics this evening. I wiped her down with some Gibbs oil to get rid of all the penetrant spots and to protect the bare metal and even out the colors. Dave
Do you have any more pictures of the 36 transmission? I'm currently building a flat head in my 51 Ford that I want to convert the transmission to open drive also, my Flathead is a 1936
