Just finished putting in the floor. Mounted the panel that goes at the bottom of the trunk lid. There is nothing supporting that panel . Should there be? Do you make the tray that goes behind the panel like a u shape that you mount the latch onto or is it a bolted in part? I see a hole on each side of the inside of the quarters. Just want to do it right the first time. Thanks Hope pics help

Yes there is a piece that bolts into the hole just above your rear panel that has the trunk latch attached to it. If I can remember there is a angle piece that screws to the back panel also. I think they might be sold at Brookville.

You need an inner trunk panel, part number VM32J from Macs.

    Your missing several pieces.

Here is a pic of my trunk its dark and dusty but you seem to be missing the inner panel to the outer panel and then a some other pieces.

edit: cant upload pic... for some reason

You are still missing a bunch of parts. Most important is the stiffener that supports the upper portion of the lower deck panel, thats the picture in HRP's post then there is a center vertical brace that ties that support to the floor to make the panel rigid. If you are going to have a trunk lid car you then need to purchase the lower trunk drain pan that mounts to the lower deck stiffener and ties everything together and mounts the bracket for the trunk latch.

Maybe this will help. The piece painted white is the panel the lid latches onto. The other photo shows the vertical reinforcement panel and the right angled panel that goes underneath the white panel to stiffen it.

While you're working in the trunk. Check the area under the reveal, where the trunk hinges on both sides. I'd reinforce it from beneath. I didn't, and now my new paint is cracking in that area on the driver's side. Should be an easy fix in bare metal.
    Good luck on the project.
