  3. Hahaha... true!

I'm baby sitting, whats your excuse? Get to work! Hahahaaa...

  4. A lot... I've asked before... he chops it, then keeps taking out a little more, then a little more, then some more.

Car was chopped and metal done perfectly, it was an even chop. I and others never said anything, it bothered him so much in his own head, he re-did the chop again and brought it down a little further. Thats a lotta work!

Here's my 2 cents worth! I drive the Solo 32 alot & people ask how does it drive! I say well it's kinda like driving a go kart with a V-8 in it! You hit a bump & it jumps 3 lanes! Brakes you hope it stops! Hauls ass & alot of rattles! Thats why Hot Rods Are Bitchin! They look @ you weird & walk off! Also I put a louverd Top in Solo & all the old ladies ask What if it rains??? I wait a few seconds & say! YOU GET WET! They walk off again! Yes 32 5 windows my favorite 2 cars! Tks Bill

  6. Yeah, I bust his balls all the time... I constantly tell people it's getting an original firewall, haha.

That body was so clean, and the chop is so nice, it deserves a real firewall. The frame, even I agree... when your tweaking a frame this much, don't use an original. Save them for less radical cars like my 32 roadster.

Funny how we pegion hole ourselves when collecting good parts. We do it all the time, want the best quality, but hate sometimes slicing it all up??? But sometimes you just got too!

I thought about that for my 5w but I figured that with a HEMI I would end up cutting it up enough to not warrant the money it costs to get a real one. Then I started thinking about setting the engine back into the cowl now so I might just end up selling the brookville one and running a sheet of aluminum. I'm running a Ionia frame so I think it'll go well with a mid 50's drag coupe and no original will be harmed in the making of my hot rod.

I think that J. Neal East (of R&C fame) had a chopped dark blue 5-window, but don't know if this is it...the radius rods might tell the story....

  22. This was one of the first real American Hot Rods in the UK, & now belongs to a guy in LA. The post entry was from the HOT Rod MAGAZINE IN THE 60`s I was 20yrs old then & was weaned on the 50`s Hot Rod movies. Im now 70 & still crazy about American 32 Ford Coupes, Sedan`s & Pk Up`s .This is a great thread...........[/B]

This Deuce was a true 50's survivor, Olds engine, 39 trans, 40 rear (all removed in the rebuild).... That picture was taken around 1975/76, This is what eventually happened to it by the late 70's early 80's ,.... While still a cool car, it's a shame it was changed from it original 50's configuration.
