Thanks John... I appreciate your kind words, as you have had a 32 or two.

Right now the chassis and car are completely dissasembled, ready for paint and chrome on the chassis. Just making a few decisions regarding those things. I have some more pics somewhere I am sure. Maybe I can post later today or tomarrow if interested

I will try this afternoon to get some posted. I am headed to the shop now to meet with some customers. I will honestly try to get some later today, but I think they are just the final welded up pics, nothing real exciting, ha.

John, bring it up, I aint that far from ya, I can give it a good once over!

These are the photos that really show the heart of a car. Yeah the finished car is always nice to see, but it's the inner beauty of the metalwork and tedious attention to detail that has always drawn me. I was at the Sacramento Autorama yesterday and watched one of the displays that a guy had running of his build pics for his 50 Merc...I was transfixed for over 30 minutes watching the superior craftsmanship that went into that car's build. Thanks for taking the time to document your work, as others have said the quality is amazing, your friend will have a car to be very proud of for many years to come.

  9. I never gave much thought to fabrication. Kind of "weld it together and run it".
That was before I started modifying the frame under my roadster. I came to realize that a select few of the folks that do this all the time are artists.
Your work is so subtle, so well done, that if one doesn't know what to look for the artistry would go unseen. Your work gives all of us inspiration to go out there, and do a better job than just "weld it together and run it". Thanks, Mike

Thanks for all the nice comments guys... I really appreciate it. I am not trying to do anything more than what this car deserves.

I am lucky to work with a great customer who is now a friend, and to have him supply the parts to put a build like this together. He has a great amount of time and money invested in the collection of parts here, and I am greatful to have the opportunity to throw a little bit of my work into the mix.

Heres a couple more pics, I dont think I have alot more at this time... I am just searching through the cd.

    thanks

Still cool to see. Thanks for taking the time to inspire others.

  13. Great work. Tight details. One thing. The factory looking rivets you used on a few places. I may have missed this answer earlier or maybe not. How? Where? Did you make them? I want to do this as well on my frame. Thanks ahead of time.

You can get them at most industrial supply houses... I cheated, although they are real rivets, they are faux...thats all I can reveil , ha.

I heli-arc all chassis components, using my trusty ol' Miller Syncrowave 250

Thanks for your interest, and again thanks for the compliments

hey thanks alot man... this thread refuses to die, ha. Hope to have some more to share on this project in the upcoming months. I wouldnt say it was put on hold, its just that some decisions had to be made, and other projects for the owner took priority, but thanks again!!! I truly appreciate it.

    Hey VAF... Great work!

One question though... Will the gussets at the rear crossmember interfere with shock placement? Are you planning on tube shocks?

It will have stock friction shocks, so the gussets will not play into that... Those gussets may serve another purpose though, stay tuned, HA!

    thanks for the compliments

    Thanks Pete...

NOS wheels from Ford were NOT painted and came loose with part number tags on them, not in any kind of packaging.
