Can anyone tell me if all 32 firewalls are the same? Will a 32 pickup firwall fit a 32 3 window coupe? Thanks Steve

Ditto to the above. I'm getting ready to us one out of a 1 ton '32 I parted out 25 years ago on my '32 roadster.

As stated, other than the variations all the firewalls both early & late will fit any of the original '32 body's. HRP

  7. Does anyone have pictures of the early/late differences?
Just cause I love learning stuff

  8. The main difference that everyone notices is the small dished area near the clutch pedal when it is depressed. It is deeper on the early firewalls. The area looks like it was a place to put an oil can holder but it was really part of a vacuum****isted clutch unit that was never adopted. There are a lot of other small differences. If you are into 1932 Ford trivia get a copy of "The 1932 Ford Book" from the Early Ford V8 Club (earlyfordv8.org).

The vac setup is fairly well detailed in a Ford patent. It must have gotten close to approval for production, as there are at least several parts made for it that went into early production '32's... the firewall dent and the odd bolt hole in '32 walls, clutch lever with a second hole made to hook on the power piston rod, Model B manifolds with a huge vac port...
If it had made production, a '32 engine compartment might have looked like something from 1975 with hoses and weird pieces of junk everywhere.

  10. Thank you for the information Charlie and Bruce.
The vac****isted clutch concept is quite interesting.
