MOST of my experience has been with 1940 or 1846- 1948 fords, OR late 40s GM cars..

***embling the front clip (sheetmetal) on a fatfender can be a pain given the number of pieces that need to fit together.

sometime soon I;ll be ***embling the front fenders onto my new to me 1932 ford.

This is my first experience with 32's and i am was hoping that someone might share their "order of operations" to ae least guide my process.

for example should the splash shield (below the grill) be installled first? or last?
should I install running boards before fenders? or after?

any tips to installing the fenders to the ch***is, (in other words should I install bolts at a certain place to simplify the alignment..

    any tips appreciated..

There has been a thread about this over at the Ford Barn. It included some very good tips.

Original parts, or repros? If original, it shouldn’t really matter other than doing the splash apron last. If you might have unreliable repro holes, I’d start with rear fenders, then running boards, then front fenders. All with clamps before you commit with holes.

Alchemy gave you good advise. We always start at the rear fenders, then boards and finally the front fenders. The gravel pan should be test fit before everything is tightened up.

Although you will have less parts to deal with I agree start at the rear and work forward, you will really have fun when it comes to getting the 4 piece hood to fit correctly. HRP

Welcome to the Deuce Club Jeff. What body style is your '32? I hope it's a "Woodie"!

    fenders installed, hood fits perfectly..

now my issue.. the headlight bar.. it seems to need to be mounted in this direction, with a slight forward bend in the bar..
mounting it in the opposite direction would certainly result in the bar hitting the grill..

however (as it may be noted in my image) the bar now puts the headlights in an upward pitch (i.e Im searching for ufo's over here)

making matters worse ? the headlight retainer hits the bar..

one friend suggests that the bar may need bent and flattened.

When I recieved the car the fenders were painted, and I ***umed that the painter had pre ***embled everything.. BUT ive been wrong before.

    any more suggestions?

Yeah I’d say that bar is backwards. Might need the ends tweaked a bit to make the center clear the grille, but all that can happen when you are dropping it.
