They are corect 32"....But mount your shell first and then set the body and hood to fit. Makes it a lot simpler to make it all work.
Just remember that there are no rules; only guidelines. Make it look right no matter what the dimensions end up being.
I've got three '32 Fords and the way I've fitted the hood and grill shell is to the body not the other way around. The radiator can be shimmed up on the front cross member to adjust the hood gap at the cowl and grill shell. Also the belt line can be adjusted by raising the rear of the hood top. Some aftermarket hood tops are too wide and the belt line is low at the cowl. Many times the hood top has to be modified so the reveal lines up. It can be easy or not, good luck!
