What was the factory treatment of the cowl to rocker, and rocker to B pillar joint? Leaded and faired, or left as a seam? It seems to be a problem prone area for bodywork, and I am pondering how best to repair mine. Thanks,
I'm not positive about the '32 but the A's and model 40's had a joint/seam at each end so "32's likely did too. If its a problem you could weld it up and grind smooth?
This is where the rocker meets the rear 1/4 panel on an unrestored, in original paint, `32 5 window coupe . The seam is leaded over.
I've seen original 3 windows both ways on the rear seam. When I got my original roadster it had a seam at the front and rear of the door. I looked at my delivery and it has a seam front and rear. Can't tell by my 3 window as it's been a hot rod for many years and the rear seam has always been leaded since I've had it. I've had several Brookville assembled bodies and both the front and rear seams are leaded. When I used to assemble Brookville roadster bodies I left both seams unleaded. Wish my 4 door was a little closer it'd be interesting to see how it's seamed?
My standard 2-door has an open seam at the cowl--leaded up at the quarter panel. Every one I've looked at was the same.
