I need to install my trunk handle and latch ***embly. How high does the hole need to be drilled for the handle?. After that whats the best way to install the latch?.
if you don't have a old deck to make a template of .1 Measure how far the centerline of the handle hole in the latch is from the edge of the latch where it will attach to the trunk. 2 find the centerline of your trunk. 3 find centerline of trunk edge where latch will attach. use centerlines to find locations for holes. drill small holes and check before drilling larger ones . use good sharp bits or uni-bit to avoid pushing low spots around hole in outside skin of trunk.
On mine the handle is 17 11/16 from the left. 18 from the right. About 1 3/4 from the bottom. Roughly center. Hope this helps.
