Hey all, I’m trying to put a brand new windshield in my 32 Tudor. I bought a beautiful original windshield frame but for some reason the channel of the frame seems smaller than the gl*** with the seal on it. Has anyone had this problem before? What seal do other people use?

It goes in with gl*** setting tape. The tape can be bought in two different thickness. A plain rubber channel will be very very hard to make it work. You could possibly need tow different thickness.

I’ve never seen the gl*** set with a rubber channel. Not even the original factory setting. As said, use the gl*** setting tape. Or just use urethane sealant to bed it in.

Make sure your gl*** is cut correctly before you put any gooey stuff on it.

Get on Youtube and search Gl*** for Cl***ics, an Aussie company, they do how to install gl*** into anything cl***ic and explain the gl*** thickness recommended for different frames, they sell all types of window rubbers and setting tape etc. Glen

Measure the inside of the channel that the gl*** sits in.
Measure the gl*** thickness, either 6mm or 1/4” probably ?
Either way, divide the difference by two, and that should be the thickness of the gl*** setting tape……..

because my gl*** was 6mm and the channel 10mm, I didn’t have the correct thickness for the setting tape, so I put a layer of insulation tape on the gl*** first, to make the fitting snug……..

I did the first one with urethane, but dread the day it gets smashed and has to be removed and cleaned up !
    - my preference is to go with the setting tape………
