Technical '32 gas tank in '30 Ford Q...

    While there is no ideal place to put a fuel tank in a Model A, I have never been a fan of having my rear "bumper" be a gas tank on highways full of texters and inattentive drivers.
     
  2. Your right there is no ideal place for a gas tank on any car, I would prefer the tank around back instead of in my lap like the original Model A's.

    When you stop and think about it even your mustang has the gas tank out back, and Ford started mounting the gas tank there in 1932 and they have basically been there through out the Hamb era cars.

    When I built my model A pickup I made a gas tank and mounted it in the bed of the truck just behind the cab, we just have to rely on out own good judgement. HRP

    Agreed. My A has the fuel tank in the trunk. Not ideal,but still better.

    i agree with today's traffic but i feel better having the tank outside the car...

    Won't be long until someone builds a battery shaped like a '32 gas tank and an electric motor shaped like an 8-71 blower and you'll be ready for the hybrid age! :)
