Been thrashing the past 2 1/2 weeks to get the 5w ready to make the drive out to LA for the 75th, Deuce birthday party at Peterson Museum(had to go out there since "Buzzard" wouldn't do anything special for us at the Roundup....hahaha). Put on taller rear tires(easy "gear change"), which entailed some different old wheels, changed all the fluids, packed front wheel bearings, new carb, set the valves, fixed a bunch of little things that I have just been putting on the back burner(I'm sure that none of you do that). I would sure rather fix something here than on the road. Shoot fire, I even got the heater hooked up finally(gonna be below freezing the morning we leave, go ahead and laugh "59Buickwagon"....Dennis, but thats cold for me). Gonna be 4 of us running out there together(unfortunately on the interstate to save time...I sure like the back roads). Gonna have some fun with this group. Any body else in the CenTex area headed out??? Skot
Does that car have a hole in back panel with aplexi panel in front of the license, and a Ford V8, or did it? If yes, have you still maintained your 100% attendance at NSRA Nationals since 1970??
You are thinking about the same car. I drove to the first Nats in a 28 Roadster pickup with a early Hemi. Thats when I rebuilt the 5w and went from a Flathead with early drive train to the FE Big block Ford/4speed and built the basic car that is in the picture. I did make all of the Nats for 32 years(interesting number), almost all of them in "this 32". The ol car has treated me well....I rebuilt it after 200,000 miles and it now has a 427 and close to 100,000 more miles on it. Traveled to 30 something states, and am "still trying to get my moneys worth" out of it(shoot fire, it originally cost me 195 dollars! )...Glad to see that some folks recognize this ol car! Skot

Hey Austin HAMB'ers.....this is Jared who helped me out getting new tires on front and back(not the simplest task)....if you are needing tires, look him up at the Cedar Park NTB. Thanks for the sendoff and earlier help . Skot
