Technical '32 grille shell on a Model A.....

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by sidevalve8ba, Mar 10, 2016.

  1. I would bet this question has been asked on here more than once but I was unable to find it. Will a '32 grille shell bolt up to a '31 Model A radiator on a Model A chassis? Or do you need to use a '32 radiator?

  2. IMG_2478.jpg IMG_2477.jpg IMG_2475.jpg The bracket for the hood hinge will need to be changed but more important the radiator filler neck will be in the wrong place and will need to be moved. In my case I added a pressurized filler cap under the hood and bolted a fake radiator cap on using a strap.

I just recently went through this with my Dad's Coupe. We relocated the filler neck to the back of the tank and used a filled shell with a So-Cal bullnose. Here's the thread if you're interested.

  4. Thanks, Muttley. Did the brackets on the sides of the radiator match up with the holes on the '32 grille shell?
