I have two sets of 32.....how much different are the 33/4's".....in the context of converting them to work a hydralic master cylinder- like Vern Tardel's book....
Conversion process would be the same...but scope out Klazurfer's Method first on a '32! '33-4 (there are several variants) are very much like '32, as forward X is shallower than '35-48 and angle is much like '32. They nearly fit a '32 frame, with one bolt hole actually aligning--the vehicle I checked this on didn't have anything else on it, but I suspect with some corrective bending they could be used on s deuce. On a '33-4 frame, I don't think there's a convenient MC location like on a '32, and a much more elaborate bracket will be neeeded.
now that i thnk about it, 32's don't have any bends in teh pedal arms, right...they are straight......(i don't have mine to look at here)
i should have worded that a little differently.....one set is in my hot rod and the other will probably go in to another hot rod.... thanks for the offer.....never hurts to ask
True statement - when working on my '34, I abandoned any idea of fabbing a direct-action brake setup. So used the original mechanical gang-lever ***embly to actuate a M/C mounted further to the rear. This was, in large, dictated by the crossmember design on the '34. EDIT: If I were building a frame from scratch, I would probably be inclined to use an F1/F100 pedal setup - I like the way they bolt up to the crossmember...
Someone posted a pic on here of a '34 frame with what I think was an Ansen bracket, from the commercial 1950's bolt-in conversion kit...wish I could find that picture. It was clearly a sort of bridge between two frame members.
