Looking to find the window channels for my 32 Ford pickup doors. The channel is missing from both doors but I wager looks something like this piece:

    http://www.honestcharley.com/1932-ford/body/32-ford-door-window-channel.html

The channel would be positioned towards the rear of the doors, the latch appears to p*** through it. Vendors are telling me the channels are not available for the pickups, anyone out there have any advice?

    Thank you!

See if you can't get some 14 ga. bent in the shape you have pictured. I had some done for a past project. It seemed like it would work out. Ones I had done were mostly straight. But I've slept since then.

k32t has provided good advice, very little room in there once you get the gl*** in there. I converted my latches to bear claw and then used Rocky Hinge Co. cable operated door latch actuators to get from the inside to the outside of the gl***, they work great.

I have just been working on my doors. I have one and 3/4 of another and looks the same as you have attached. I think I'm going to buy one myself. You could make one but they are not flat, bend on each end. Hardly worth it for 30 bucks.

That channel that you show fits pu's, 2 dr's, 5 window coupes, vicky's, 4 dr fronts. Only body style I know it doesn't fit is the 3 window. Buy a pair, I've made them in the past but now that they're reproduced, no more.

I could not agree more. I used a pair when putting my truck together and they work just fine.

If they fit, buy 'em. I don't think they existed when I did my doors. I had one, so I was able to fab another. They do have a funky little bend as 54 reno said. I had trouble finding the proper size "U" channel if I remember correctly...why didn't I think of cutting some square tubing? I remember that I ended up with enough to fab an extra, which I did (and later sold it to a grateful HAMBer). Buy the things.

Thank you for all the replies gentleman. Good to hear the repros will work correctly.

Sidevalve, or anyone else, do you specifically remember where you purchased your pair when ***embling your doors?

Thanks again, looking forward to functioning windows!

If memory serves me correctly I got them from Mack's.

I used a pair on a 33 pickup. I had to enlarge the rectangular hole to clear something. Other than that, they did the trick.

I used a pair from United Pacific and they seemed to work fine.

  13. United Pacific just started reproducing them for the pickups. I've made 'em in the past but the guy at UPAC says they need to be a certain tinsel strength?

There were issues with the originals breaking where the latch goes thru. That was later resolved with a thin metal strip spot welded to each side. As with many of Fords parts there were early and late channels!
