Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by rat bastad, Jan 21, 2015.

  1. I see that Woodart in CA sells them - can anyone comment on their fit/quality ? Its a Brookville body ;)

Also, do they have an email address?

Can someone recommend other suppliers of quality pieces?

    Thanx fellas !

Make sure whomever you buy them from has built it for a Brookville body. They are not like the original Fords. Maybe Woodart has theirs made to fit Fords?

I've been through this recently. As alchemy says, original Fords have a "pocket" in the top edge of the body that the forward end of the tack rail tucks into. Brookville bodies don't have this pocket. The Wood Art piece is made to fit an original Ford. You're probably best to use the Brookville part or make your own.

I bought mine from Brads Wood Shop, new number is 360-317-5723. Mine was for an original body but when I ordered it he asked what kind if body I had. Brads out of his shop to a warmer climate until I believe he said late March. I have a Brookville tack strip somewhere that was supposed to fit their body, I had a local wood shop make me a wood strip to fit that I could use to roll the upholstery over the back.
