ford stuff period is getting high dollar. early A's are going up as well. Probably because 32's are made of unobtainium.

I bought my 32 chevy because if how similar it is to A's. I dont regret it a bit. It's fooled many people including some on here. :D

I dont particularly see the desire for dueces. Maybe I just dont get it. Someday I'll own an A though...

Check out the story and build pics.

They've also got a nice (Brookville) roadster too. :)

Their whole site is full of decent stuff, mostly non-trad though.

  3. For all the moaning about vintage iron prices, we actually have it pretty good compared to other auto cults. Financially, I'm glad I have a hard-on for old Fords and not rare muscle cars. If you think $20k is a lot for a Deuce body, try coming up with the scratch for a ZL-1 motor.

Talking about 32 stuff - check out the new rodders journal - its twice as thick and its all 32 a bonus issue - now wait and see what the 32 stuff does after people soak in an enitire double issue RJ.

Way to go RJ - can't wait to read it. It looks killer

My wife just said I can't believe that guy said 32 parts would give him a boner - ah ha ha

Exactly. The Value only matters if you sell it......... and many of us that have them won't even consider it. That's the main driver for the prices. When I buy something for my roadster or coupe its because I found the perfect thing for the car, and price won't be a consideration. But some of the old boys have trouble with current prices because its hard to pay so much for something that was once so much less.

No, they WOOD, that's why there's more '32 Fords around than Chevys now!;) Okay, terrible joke........ The bottom line about '32 prices is that stuff is worth whatever people will pay, and just because "we" think it's cool, doesn't mean that "we" are the only market!! I am surprised nobody else mentioned/saw the NOS '32 Ford fenders on ebay a couple weeks ago that ended for somewhere around seven grand!!

Ok, Owning a '32 project in new to me, took 45 years to finally get one, the Wescott '32 roadster in the late 1970's doesn't count. Still have the first '32 part I ever saw, the mint grill incert I swapped the floormats out of dad's new 1961 Ford for, I was 10 year old at the time. The '32 Vicky remains I picked up from a friend are all I can afford, and I off loaded the few extra or unwanted bits and recovered 1/3 of the cost. I still need the front roof section and closed car windsheild posts, everything else I need is available in reproduction. My labor is free.:D

No, somethings are truely priceless. Just about everything I have set aside for this '32 Vicky has a story behind it. Many of the parts are from friends that have since departed this world, and when I go for my first ride their memory will be along for the ride.

But both are 32 LOOK ... based on the 32 chassis and grill shell ... :)

PLUS ... it is NOT about the money $$$ ...

It's about what you want ...

I worked as a local governement employee making signs and my wife was a school teacher. Neither job is what you call a " Bucks Up " type of job. Yet I have two Deuces ... both ' Henry Ford issued ' ...:D
It just took a bunch of planning and work ... along with a LOT of determination ...

...and a shitload of $$$...:D ,,,bottom line...how bad do you want something, and...how hard are you willing to work to get it, and...how long are you willing to wait to get it? Another car on my 'Have to own before I die' list, is a 1932 Deusenberg Dual-Cowl Phaeton, but at $1.5 million dollars, it's gonna take a while. So I'm buildin' the Deuce 3W while I can afford it, and then planning on 'when' I'll get the Deusie...notice I didn't say 'if'?...;)

    Apples and Oranges...

I love my Model A because I built it the way I want it.
I love my Deuce for what it will be after I build it the way I want it, not because it is some mystical holy grail of Hot Rodding.

A's, '32s (and '33/'34s for that matter) are all very cool in their own right.

Lots of family resemblence and a steady evolution from one model to the next, yes.
    But not the same.

  27. Uh... I think it's called supply and demand. I'm happy for the high prices in general. Wasn't that long ago that you'd put more money into a car than you'd ever get out of it. Now it's not hard to make money building a car, and work your way up. Not to mention the many of us that make part or all their income working for the rich guys that want, but can't or won't build. Personally I'm glad I can be happy with with the less popular stuff. Mater of fact, I think I'll go out to the shop and weld a bit on my ol Stude.

  28. From 1971 and 1972..... The fully fendered 3 window is described as a fair price at $400.
#16 32 Roadster project for the "sky high" price of $850
#18 described as clean straight and well cared for, $2,800 is too high for this body style.
I know, I know it's all relative. It's still fun to look back. h32price.jpg

Built my first 32 roadster in 1973, and have over 20 deuces since then. Just sold my 32 Vic this weekend in PA. I still have a 6 others in the shop and plan to build several repro Brookville roadsters before I die. I wouldn't hold your breath for prices to go down. I didn't see Rodders Journal double their page count and devote an issue to the Model A when it turned 75.
