Hot Rods 32 TRUNK LOCK?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 383deuce, Aug 30, 2016.

  1. Anyone know of a old school locksmith that can pick my original 32 trunk assembly and make a key for it?
If I have posted this in the wrong place please let me know.
    Thanks

There are a couple of ace Ford locksmiths on the V8 section of Fordbarn. They can definitely do this. I was agonizing over the same thing on my roadster, but it suddenly dawned on me that I had an original car, not a heap of fleamarket finds as was my usual state, and the proper key was the one sticking out of the steering lock...

  3. Thanks Bruce, I will check them out on the Ford Barn. I do not have the steering lock for it, so no key at all. I took the handle to a local locksmith and they said it was to old for them to screw with.

Labars Lockshop in NJ. You can mail it to him. labarslockshop@Comcast.net He gave me a quote of $20 to key the lock in my 31 Model A.

My local locksmith did both the door and trunk for my 32 Coupe. Not only did he make a key, but he even made them match. I think he charged like $50. If you want to ship it to me, I can run it over to him.

Where are you? Local locksmith here in northern Illinois picked open the trunk lock for my 37 and hand cut me some keys for it. Took him an evening to do it, but he picked it up and dropped it off, all for $60. Hard part was finding blanks that fit, but he happened to have some.

Dennis, contact "FlatHeadCoupe" on the ford barn. He did my original '37 trunk lock, and is a pro. mcclurex@bellsouth.net He might come up with an original hurd key and make a cylinder with tumblers to match the key.

I'll second the "flatheadcoupe" post. Furnished me with a NOS lock and key for my '37 trunk handle, and quick as well.
