I’m getting ready to disassemble my 32 Ford Tudor so it can be painted and I have a question about the firewall. I haven’t taken anything apart yet but looking at the firewall I don’t see anything that looks like a connection between the firewall and the body. I think the firewall is a Brookville, it’s a repop for sure. Does the body just sit on the firewall with a rubber seal/gasket with the frame bolts holding the body down. I know there are two curved struts under the dash connecting it to the firewall but I don’t see anything holding the body and firewall together. Thought I’d check with you’all before I dig in.
The center bolt of cowl to frame is what pulls body down onto gasket you describe above. So yes, no other fasteners.
Besides the body pull down brackets at the bottom of the cowl the rear hood hinge bracket has 4 bolts, 2 front bolts that bolt to the firewall and the 2 rear bolts go thru the firewall lip on the body and thru the firewall.
Photos to illustrate above comments. First the hood bracket from the top and then then from the bottom. Charlie Stephens
