Don't the vast majority of our projects start with "totals"?

  3. I have to disagree. Most Hot Rods are not totals. In California, there are laws and for good reason. The car was totaled. The owner got paid. At that point, the car was a salvaged vehicle, with a salvage pink slip. When a car is in a fire, the metal changes its makeup, structure becomes brittle and weaker.

This car is on Hot rod hotline for 95K. For that price, car should be pristine and not have body filler, later to crack out. A frame hit should always be put on a frame machine with gauges, no exception!! Technicians should be I- Car certified on all aspects of collision repair, including major and structural damage. This FNG thinks he will find an 80 year old car with no damage or repair .Good luck dude, you could buy a 100 point restored car and it could have been wrecked or repaired sometime in its long life.

  5. That's my point. For 95K, the car should be a 100 point car. Also, I owned a major repair facility for 40 plus years. The insurance company in CA totaled the car, something they hate doing. This car was burned bad, tons of bad metal damage. That's why they totaled the FG thing, Dude!!

    Wow.

Until the last few posts, this has been an amazing thread, absolutely amazing.

  7. I don't think he wants to buy. Just another tire kicking critic. Life goes on. Many more like him out there, but you can't say the same about your car. Just "My" Honest Opinion.

This site is loaded with talented people with the ability to do amazing things some people only dream of . This thread shows if its a car that you have dreamed of for a long time and the chance to check it off the bucket list comes along we go to the ends off the earth to save and possess it . We have done some crazy things to save some good cars in my family also. Just like his Phoenix pinstripes he is not hideing but proud of what he did to save it . We always tell a buyer what all we have done and more than once they found it unbelievable what we did until pictures are shown. We would never try to hide anything from a buyer. And we hope if its ever sold again these things are not hidden . When done with care and experience everything we have done would only be found if the entire car was taken to bare metal. You have done an amazing job I would like to congradulate you on a job well done man you did nice work. You have done exactly what I would have done if I had a chance at owning a 32 Ford . Enjoy it often !

Fix this car. Yep, me, too. Now that I made my point, my hat goes off to John along with what's left of my hair!! HEE HEE
