You are right .

 

I might add....
I would call a suicde front end most of the T-bucket kits you can buy.
If the spring breaks , the frame will dig into the pavement.....
Well suicide....

Not to add to the confusion,but when I think of suicide suspensions I also think of t-buckets,early t's and lakes/track cars.
Here are a few examples.

It must be an east coast thing because that we called that in PA. also, in the early 50s. I know thats what I did then.
