  7. I could put my grandpa's buck skin rubber up on e-bay and have my friends bit it up to 10 grand too... doesn't mean it's worth it!

Kinda what I was thinking could have been happening.

I think that same thing happens all the time.

I seen a local car listed on ebay that is a real honest 8500 dollar panel truck.

On ebay the buy it now was at $14500, it got to $13900.
You can assume his reserve was at $13901.

Sad thing is this kind of practice kind of warps the true value of things.

  9. LMFAO, that's a true Canadian Eh. Put your snowmobile suit on, install "winter front" on the roadster and your good to go! No wonder you can't find those Pines Winter Fronts in Canada, all these pussies in Arizona and Califoria have them!

I have to admit, I've been steadily amazed at the continuous growth of anything 'old Ford (obviously some years/models more than others) ever since I started 're-acquiring' some in 2003 in preparation for retirement in late 2010. I was in shock at the prices they were going for in 2003, and now eight years later I could probably triple my investment! Trouble with that is, for me it's more a 'love affair' than an investment. Kinda bizarre when (like many of you folks) I remember buying '32s, '34s, etc in high school for anywhere from $30 to $200; in the same 'barn find' shape that sell for $10K to $30k these days.

  11. Then the auction gets pulled at the last minute...

    Just wait.

Most guys who would replace a stock deuce insert with a pines winterfront are not into Taditional Hot Rodding .. The going rate 4 those kind of accessories are not our worrie :)

i don't know about that, at the very least it was made for a car that alot of people would covet! vw is a vw. if my own mother and my wife could'nt influence my thinking, what chance do you have.
