i have a 322 nailhead im putting in my next project, the motor i have was already pulled from the car and traded hands enough time to forget the production year, and now im having a bit of trouble finding the production year and model. I went on the team buick forum looking for info but the stamping number on my motor doesnt match up to anything given. the number is I7I09236 (stamped on the left cylinder blank between the middle header branches), if anybody has any other stamping # references it would be greatly appreciated.

The 6 on the end looks like a 322 from a Super (4 holer 4 barrel motor ) numbers look like late 54 early 55? does it have the oil fill in the valley pan ( 53 to early 55) or on the valve cover ( late 55 to 64)?

i think your right about the 6 (meaning 60 series) for the super. there is an oil filler/breather in both the right valve cover and the valley pan, its all been covered in orange paint so im not to sure what came stock, but its a good guess the production year was late 54 or 55. thanks for the info.
