Timeing check timeing mark remove left valve cover number 4 and number 1 are at top dead center at the same time. Turn engine over until ex. valve closes and intake just starts to open timing mark should be close to tdc if not something moved ( bad damper) If mark seems ok set to 5 on timing tap. Remove distributer cap rotor should point to #1 loosen distributor and turn it in direction of rotation until points close remove coil wire from cap and place close to a ground turn on switch move distributer in oppsite direction until you get a spark tighten distributor. timing should be a degree or 2 from right.
