I am starting to work on this 1954 olds 324 and it has adj rockers and a camshaft that are not stock. Does anyone recognize the adj rockers and any info on this camshaft? On the cam it looks like it is stamped PBC and EL 28
See if a magnet will stick to the rockers there were both cast iron an magnesium rockers available back in the day. Those look cast Iron and like Isky rockers to me. no idea on the cam however.
Just for reference, here are what my Isky rockers look like. I'm not sure if they were all the same or appeared all the same.
absolutely right about that, not Isky. I think McGurk is on it. I don't recall the McGurks that i had having any name in them. Did Gotha make cast Iron rockers? Can't remember if Gotha rockers were iron or Mag, I know Thomas rockers were Magnesium.
Adjusters on top needed dimpled covers. On the bottom didn’t. Who thought beehive springs were a new idea?
Almost look like 371 "J2-J2R" rocker arms. Not many J2R's were made, maybe 500? Were basically Nascar motors, had the dimpled valve covers. You can use 371 rocker shafts & arms on a 324. I believe Isky made the rockers for GM?
