I am wanting to put a 324 Olds in my 51 Pontiac and I was wondering if there is anything 'special" I should worry about when swapping it. Also does anyone make an adapter for a 324 to run a different tranny. I really don't want to run another hydro-. Not my favorite tranny to have $$$wise

as soon as I get it going I will start with progress picks. I am going to leve the 268 in it until the Hot rod reunion is over, then I will yank it out. If anyone is looking for a good 268 with a 3 speed..I will have one soon for ya.:D

A while back in, I believe, an issue of Rod and Custom there was a company that made adapters for all kinds of engine/trans combos. In the article, they were hooking up a modern trans to a 331(?) hemi with a long flange. I will have to go check my issues to see who the company was and get back to you. Don't think it was the company mentioned above.

Tanson in Sacto. There's also some good folks in SLO, who's name has slipped my Teflon™ mind.

Unless you have the adapter to move the starter to the pasenger side of the engine, study your clearance around the steering box

Check Wilcap in California. I think he makes an adapter for the 324 to a put a Chevy or Ford manual behind it. www.wilcap.com or 805-481-7639

The article I couldn't remember was about Wilcap as provided by Flatheaded above. It is my understanding is that if they don't already have it, they can make it based on info on engines and trannys in their CAD database. Early Olds Rockets they do cater to among other engines.
