Hot Rods 327 hydraulic lifter noise or flat

I have a 327 with lifter noise

• I set the lifters with engine running removed lasch then 1/2 turn then cooled down a few days later I set again with engine running1/4 turn . This caused some valves to stay open. I did not get into what valves were the problem.
• I set the lifers static engine was not running removed play the 1/2 turn motor ran good but ticking.
• Just a thought reach out for diagnostic tips.
