I am trying to install a set of front and rear side window channels, and with nothing to start with in the car or no directions in the Drake kit, I am a bit confused. Can anybody offer any tips or pictures of how they go together? Where exactly do the split part of the channes need to be for the windows to operate properly. Any help will be much appeciated.
    Thanks, Dave

Are you just installing a window felt kit or actually replacing the metal channelling it goes into.

Flatman, I am starting with nothing but a bare 34 body and a Drake channel kit that the glass is guided in

  6. I can tell ya what's in a 5-window. For each door, there should be 1-flexible channel, and 3 felt lined hard channels.

First, you should put two of the hard channels in the bottom half of the door. They support the window in the down position. The one narrow hard channel goes on the latch side of the door, and another deeper channel goes at the hinge side. They are supported by the hooks on the channel at the top and a metal, bendable tab at the bottom. Afther those are in (some choose to glue these in to eliminate any rattles) you then attatch the glass to the regulator.

Next, roll the glass all the way down so that you can install the top channels. Place the remaining metal channel (its the deepest of the three metal channels) on the hinge side. Slide the tab on bottom of the channel into the slot on the door to secure the lower side, then secure the top side with the metal tab thats a part of the door. You simply bend the tab to secure the channel.

Finally, you cut to fit the flexible channel and glue it in. It starts at the top hinge side of the door, across the top of the door, then down the latch side of the door an meets at the lower metal channel in the bottom half of the door. I used 3M weather strip adhesive to glue this in.

I'm sure this is clear as mud, but hopefully it helps you out. Its what I did and it seems to work fine.
