i timed the motor, changed a fitting that was dripping on the oil gage and wired in a junction block for the front lights. i was happy with the way it ran so today i swopped out the intakes, installed the carbs and made the linkage. new thermostat housing and stat, fuel lines like my dad had and new fittings.
runs good but doesn't have the "snap" that the single four had, but i am going to keep "tweaking" it.
    sure looks good! DSCF4201.JPG DSCF4202.JPG DSCF4203.JPG

Ya know with the red air filter screens, red fuel lines, and red block, the wheel area between the hub caps and tire might just look OK in Red as well. Look how nice the rocker covers look with the Red highlights. Bob

Wow! Was wondering if it was this refined and classy in 82 or when "Dad" and "Uncle?" Built it?[emoji39]

i am aiming toward what their next change may have been. if you compare the consecutive magazine articles you can see they made changes. 265 was changed to a 283, then bored to a 301. they added a fuel pump, and changed the rear gears. the pictures show exhaust manifolds then headers and they added some other dress up items.
i used a 327 with a 283 crank but the headers, manifold air cleaners fuel block, fan, front pulleys, valve covers and draft tube are the same [actually THE ones].
the carbs are the same, generator, regulator, generator brackets, linkage, fuel pump, water neck, fuel lines, acorn nut covers are the same but not THE ones.
the things i took liberties with [traditionally styled?] fuel pump block off , water pump, header coating.
distributor NOT traditional, but could be easily changed.

Hey Mark you read the caption from that periodical he just posted? Says red and white Naugahyde! Ha! But we already knew that, just pushing his buttons right? The cow print looks just as nice. I wonder if his farmer helper looked twice as he lifted the seat up.

i am looking at buying a mighty wiper, brand wiper motor.
    any one use them?
i took the measurements off the net and "built" one out of wood to make sure it would fit and to help get the correct shaft length. i will keep this model to use in future projects if the motors are worth it. DSCF4207.JPG

Project33.com has a couple of articles on installing a Mighty Wiper. He seemed to like it.

made a bracket for the throttle return spring, and worked on the carb adjustment. Dad stopped by and pulled the car out of the garage for the first time in 30 plus years with the 2 fours. big smile!
worked on screwing the floor boards down and putting the tranny cover in. i cut and glued carpeting to the cover but not the floors. i want to be able to pull up the carpet, unscrew the cover and floorboards without a lot of work. DSCF4208.JPG

i took a picture of the carpet installed but it came out crappy [the picture not the carpet] so i did not post it.
for my birthday my wife went to the pet store and bought me a waterproof seat cover for the car, it has slots for the seat belts and straps to hold it to the seat. so now i can take the greasy little hair ball for a ride. [i am referring to Tater, my dog, not ct1932ford like you are thinking] . DSCF4211.JPG
