Still fighting with them over an unrealistic damage ***essment...I had a second appraisal done and it was twice their appraiser's ***essment which was a poorly estimated almost insulting bit of paperwork. They contracted an appraiser that really didn't know vintage Hotrod. I told them I don't want to deal with that appraiser any more due to his incompetence and he's still involved. They have got caught lowballing so I'm waiting on their next move but also looking at involving alternative avenues but I'm nearly at the point of writing this year off...I am pretty upset about that really. I will get through this ignorance.

    I’m so sorry Stogy!
Do you have another Toy to drive?
Was it you who had a 33 Plymouth coupe?
… maybe that was Dave’s coupe. Can’t recall

    IMG_6641.jpeg LET THE FUN BEGIN!
I don’t no why I torture myself with these things!
No I can’t be normal and Just buy a new alternator.
I have to obsess about it do hours and hours of research, spin, nickel, and dime money on the small parts, have several failures, but I am bound and determined to find the cure!!
    I will let you know!
I used to do that with the smog people too. I always figuring out how to just put enough smog stuff on it to make it p***.
But if I moved to Oklahoma, I don’t have to worry about that **** anymore!!!!

Time to put on some Reverend Horton Heat or the cramps or Brian Setzer we’ll see!

    IMG_6618.jpeg IMG_6621.jpeg IMG_6623.jpeg IMG_6626.jpeg IMG_6625.jpeg IMG_6642.jpeg IMG_6641.jpeg Well this story is kind of an ongoing one.
Most of you know that I don’t like this one wire alternator business because it spikes on and off it wasn’t meant for all these extra components.
    Like an Fan circuit
    Heater AC circuit
    Electric fuel pump
    Bright halogen headlights.
    Etc.

So I tried to convert it to a 3 wire, and bought a heavy duty dual purpose lithium battery.
I think it’s just acting strange with the lithium battery.
But the first regulator didn’t work when I switched it to a three wire and wired it so I went back to a one wire,
Then it kept spiking 15-16 V and then dropping down, doing weird things.
So then, I chipped the brushes, in accident, and thought that was it. So
I bought a 3 wire rebuild kit and this the latest.
it seems to be doing the best.
So it’s charging nice and slow and steady and there’s no flickering of the lights and things so that’s good,
It did however, go up to 15-15.6 once or twice but then it’s settled,
So I don’t know if that has something to do with the lithium battery topping off, but it seems to be stable now, so I think I’m just gonna run it and see what happens.
I’ve learned more about alternators than I ever wanted to learn lol!
I’ll try to upload some videos in a moment!

So I did manage to find HD Regulator,
    And 50 amp HD rectifier
So it should be fine with the extra capacity battery

    Welp!
Drove the car to work yesterday, and she spiked up
To 16v all the way there.
    So Nope!
The lithium battery does not work with the Gm alternator!
Put my old AGM battery in before I came home. From work and it charged at 14.5 the whole way home. Even though the battery doesn’t hold the charge for more than 2 days.
So I’m giving up on these cosmic batteries, going back to the old school lead battery!!!
At least it’s three wire now and running like it should 13 five and an idle if the battery is doing good. It cost me $57 to mail that stupid lithium battery back!!!
    Lesson learned! I’m stubborn!!!

IMG_6687.jpeg IMG_6686.jpeg IMG_6690.jpeg IMG_6680.jpeg I also decided, even though My Mallory Unilite electronic Distributor has been performing well since I
Added the Ballast resistor, Mallory coil, and Voltage Spike filter, I going old school, and buying the (Holley/Mallory Unilite Dual point distributor as a back up, in a ziplock behind the seat. So I decided to sell my “Cherry” extra set of rear fenders to buy it.
The ones on the car are fine, a little more filler, sanding and a repaint some day will be fine.

IMG_6723.jpeg IMG_6725.jpeg IMG_6730.jpeg Went back to a regular, good ole’ Lead acid battery, I hope that makes the new 3 wire alternator set up happy. I’m so stoked that Holly took over Mallory, and are makeon the Unilite “Dual” Point Distributor again.
Pricey ******* though, been a week have not got even one call on my fenders. No one is buying early parts anymore.
Made a new battery tie down for the taller Lead acid battery, while I kill time.
