Thanks for the kind words folks. Worked a bit on the a-pillars and got the doortop done and fitted on driverside. Now is when one gets a good look of how it will be .
That's the way Ford should have made them, you have a great sense of proportion. Looking forward to the completion. It is going to be black, right?
I'm getting ready to chop my 34 5 winder - and I really like your chop. It isn't too radical (I get tired of the SoCal coupe Bonneville look) - your proportions are really nice. I wasn't going to lay the A-pillar back, but the slight amount that you laid yours back looks really nice. Nice work ,thanks for sharing and keep the pictures coming! B&S
Nicely done. Looks very smooth and well proportioned not just hacked to make it lower. With wide whites ,some skirts and ribbed bumpers it could p*** for an Westergard style custom.
When I planned this chop my goal was to make it look good with and without fenders. I really like what Rolling Bones are doing but fenders are no option on their cars. 33 and 34´s are tricky to get right .I´ve studied a lot of chops and sorted out what I liked and not about them. It´s really easy to make them look flat and the quarterwindows too square and that happends when stretching the roof instead of laying the pillars .On a heavy chop it might need a little bit of both. Extend the roof a little bit above the door and lay the windscrean back a bit for right proportions. I´m not saying one way is right and another is wrong but this is how I like to see it. Good luck on your chop Thanx Actually I had a plan of maybe doing it as a custom but since I allready building my 36 as a kustom this will be a hot rod. One of each must be the best of two worlds. Some more progress. Upper corners above the a-pillars needs to be fabricated .
Well now everything is pieced together again. Took it outside to get a good look before welding it back together . View attachment 3707450
Chop looks wicked. Something about the tire size is messing with the look though. It needs to be dropped a bit or something.
Suspension will come down anoher inch or two for the right stance and fenders will come off aswell.Still wants the option to put them back on if I feel like it.
That is one of the best proportioned chops that I have seen. I really like the side view. I'm not a fan of leaning the windshield back so as to have a wedge shaped side window.
Maybe 5" or 6". I do not remember anymore. I made that top chop 2years ago. Its not my car. I have arranged car from Solvang CA to Sweden. Owner from North-Sweden bring car to my garage 2weeks 2015 October.
