Has anyone built (or have any pics) of a '33 or '34 Ford coupe that has a 115" or greater wheelbase? Do people just stretch the hoods to do this or can you add to the cowl or somewhere else to help with the proportions?
Have a friend w/a stretched wheelbase 34. All the "extention" is from the firewall forward. His is fenderless. Looks funny(odd) IMHO. Of course the sunroof, pro-strret rear and Lincoln MarkVIII seats don't help. I've tried to take pictures but my camera hates it so much it ****s out each time.
My wheelbase is 115". I just used a model a crossmember, lined up the radiator holes where the stock holes should have been and had a 34 radiator made shorter (6" in my case). I am using a stock hood and grille with no stretch what so ever. Here are some pics, I think it brought the tire more in line with the grille and makes it look faster IMHO. Donny.
I have a friend that's streathcing one .. He used two cowls sectioned together in the middle. Looks like it may turn out OK . sorry no pictures yet
i just couldnt imagine 3" longer wheelbase. BUT with a little help from those pics. " it "LOOKS GOOOOD!!!"
I would really like to comment on this one, but it was suggested that if I can't say any thing nice, don't say anything at all. My vow of silence continues...
I need a longer hood for the wheel base of my '34 also. To complicate matters further the car has a '32 grill shell. I need to match the hood to the grill and also get the additional length. Is it possible to mate a '32 front hood piece with the '34 hood. Any thoughts?
