Does anyone have this combination? I have a 351 W in my 55 F-100 now and had to displace the engine to the right an inch or two and use shorty Mustang headers to get around the Volare steering box. I'm putting together a blown 1955 331 hemi and would like to put it in my Ford, but is there enough clearance?? If anyone has this combination, I'd like some advice / pics to help me out. Thanks Erik from Norway

I personally don't have that combo, but I've got a '55 F100 also. I've got the stock front end & steering gear, and with a 351C, headers have proven a tricky fit...

I believe the best advise I can offer is measure, measure, measure. Check out the width, length, & height of your current mill compared to that hemi. If the blower & fuel system will fit under the hood you may be able to cheat the motor up a few inches to clear the gear. Also, this sounds like the ideal application for a set of custom headers.
